Creative Opportunity: Regional Producers Platform
Local Giants Regional Producers Platform
Performing Arts Connections Australia
Local Giants is calling for applications from regionally based producers for the inaugural Regional Producers Platform.
The Platform will see a collection of regionally based producers participate in a skills development program lead by Performing Lines. The format is based on Performing Lines’ method of learn-by-practice through sharing case studies and templates. Members of the Performing Lines national Producing team, as well as guest speakers, will provide insights on producing fundamentals including budgets and finances, market development, grants and funding.
Taking place over Zoom, participants will gather weekly for 13 sessions which will consist of lectures and tutorials relevant to the various stages of producing live works from concept development to wrap-up and future planning. Participating producers will work on their own project idea, applying templates and learnings shared by Performing Lines.
At the conclusion of the program the producers will congregate in person from 5-9 September at APAX 2022 at NIDA, Sydney. Attendance will include individual mentoring sessions, allowing the producers to utilise their skills and build further contacts with artists, presenters and producers in a national forum.
This is an opportunity for emerging to mid-career regional producers (including self-producing artists) and regional arts workers of all forms of live work to come together and explore new modes of working, project ideas, and sustainable models for presentation and touring.
Applicants with diverse experiences are encouraged to apply, including First Nations producers, producers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQ+ producers, and Deaf and Disabled producers.
