Learning Opportunity: The Art of Grant Writing Workshop
Join arts consultant Olivia Everitt for a three hour grant writing workshop exploring the art of writing successful grant applications for arts projects, artists and arts organisations.
This workshop is suitable for individual artists, arts organisations or collectives, festival organisers, event managers and arts workers seeking funding for their creative practice, organisation or project. No prior grant writing experience is necessary.
Topics covered during this session include, but are not limited to:
- Overview of government, corporate and philanthropic funding programs relevant to the arts sector
- Overview of grant terminology and where to find relevant grants
- Project planning and logistics (e.g. insurance, risk management, volunteers, contractors, milestones and timelines)
- Budgets (e.g. artist fees, travel allowances and contingencies)
- Relationships, partnerships and support materials
- Useful templates and sourcing data and research relevant to your project
Afternoon refreshments provided - registration is essential.
About the facilitator
Olivia Everitt is a freelance arts consultant, grant writer and project coordinator with over ten years’ experience working with not-for-profits, local government and in the arts and cultural sector. Olivia is an appointed member on the Wide Bay Burnett Fraser Coast Regional Community Forum, and is also a national grants peer assessor in both the Australia Council for the Arts 2021-24 and Regional Arts Australia 2022-23 peer assessor groups. Olivia holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) from Deakin University.
This workshop is fully funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Fraser Coast Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
