140 years of the Proclamation of Queensland
A time capsule was placed by Mayors Cr Alan Brown (MCC) and Cr Bill Brennan (HBCC) in Queens Park on the 6th of June 1999 on the 140th anniversary of the proclamation of Queensland – to be disinterred on Queensland day 6 June 2024.
The mayors of Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Tiaro, and Woocoo all put “relics representing their regions” into the capsule, and that the Maryborough Family Heritage Institute and the Maryborough Promotions Bureau also placed items into the capsule.
