Creative Opportunity: Public Art EOI

Back

This project forms part of the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) ‘Arts in Health’ Pilot Program, which is funded in partnership with Arts Queensland. There are several creative opportunities within the scope, of the project, and Expressions of Interest are now being welcomed from artists with a strong desire to showcase the power of art to bring comfort, hope, and positive health and wellbeing outcomes to otherwise austere clinical environments.

About the project

Through ongoing consultation with stakeholders since September 2023, several artwork opportunities have been identified around the ward - some of which are First Nation’s identified commissions, and others open to artists of all cultural backgrounds. Expressions of Interest from artists with a personal or historical connection to the Butchulla community or geographic location are considered highly desirable.

Recent consultation with staff and patients has identified the following priorities for the commission/s:

  • Place-based, community-centered and culturally inclusive storytelling;
  • Feelings of welcome, comfort, safety, acceptance and hope; and,
  • A sense of connectedness to the natural environment.

CLOSING DATE
Applications close on SUNDAY 16TH JUNE, 11:59PM
