Fraser Coast festive grants help spread Christmas cheer

Community groups from throughout the Fraser Coast will share in almost $22,000 in Council festive grants to decorate the streets of small towns and help stage Christmas and New Year’s Eve events.

Cr James Hansen said the grants had been approved under Council’s Community Festive Events Program and Community Small Town Festive Decorations Program.

“The Christmas-New Year period is a wonderful time of the year, and Council is pleased to be able to help our smaller communities on the Fraser Coast decorate and brighten their towns to spread some Christmas cheer,” he said.

“These grants also enable clubs and not-for-profit organisations to put on community events such as carols, Christmas markets and a family fun fair during the festive season.

“Council is committed to creating connected, inclusive communities through our places, spaces and people; our grants programs help achieve that. It’s all about building better communities together.”
