Emma Thorp is an artist living in Hervey Bay, Queensland.
She works in high detail contemporary coloured pencil drawings, digital drawing, and animation.
She graduated from Latrobe University, Bendigo with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking.
Her current touring exhibition “early” is a moving chronicle of her experiences as the mother of an extremely premature son, who went on to be diagnosed as Autistic and with ADHD.
Emma is a recent recipient of the 1770 Art Show digital award for her animation “Afterglow”, and was also commissioned by the Bundaberg Regional Gallery to create a site specific animation about inclusion called “Invested ( both of which can be seen on her website: emmathorpart.com ).
She has been a finalist in the Lyn McRae Drawing Prize, Swan Hill Print and Draw, the DuRietz Art Prize and the Queensland Regional Art Awards.
