Fraser Coast Arts and Cultural Person of the Month Award
The Fraser Coast Arts and Cultural Person of the Month Award honours the region’s arts and culture persons for their achievements. An Arts and Cultural person is defined as a person who is engaged in an activity related to creating art, practising the arts, or demonstrating an art, or cultural activities.
A person who uses imagination, talent, or skill to create works that may be judged to have an aesthetic value. This might be someone who works in the following areas: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts, Community Arts and Cultural Development, Dance, Emerging and Experimental Arts, Literature, Multi-art form, Music, Theatre or Visual Arts. This list is not exhaustive.

Each month, the awards will be presented to a deserving junior and senior arts and cultural person.
Recognition
- All winners will receive a framed certificate and a $50 voucher at the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
- The winning junior and senior Arts and Cultural Person will be profiled in an editorial in the Fraser Coast Chronicle and the quarterly Fraser Coast Regional Council Scene publication.
- Award winners will be automatically entered in to the Cultural or Young Cultural Award of the Year as part of the Australia Day Awards.
Nominations
The Arts and Culture person can be nominated by teachers, tutors, other arts and culture workers, community members or by self-nomination. Nominations will be accepted up to 4pm on the second Monday of the nominating month; and Winners will be advised via contact details provided in the nomination form.
